Brief Information of a few of our important programs
In 2011 we had organized the Konkan Art Exhibition which attracted more than 5 lakh people. The show presented 100 artists ranging from works over 150 years old to contemporary. It was hailed by the media as well as the public. Arka held a very successful Art film festival inviting top film-makers from India and abroad together with Laurent Bregeat, Vishwanath Math, Nrupen Madhvani. In 2013, Arka Art Trust presented "JJ-90s Time of Change" a landmark exhibition of 35 top most contemporary artists including Jitish Kallat, Riyas Komu, Justin Ponmany were participating giving an opportunity to students as well as art connoisseurs to see and document the foundations and progress of the artist. The second in series "JJ 80s - A Juncture of Relevance & Reverence" exhibition, this curated art show showcased works of students passed out through this school of art in the decade of '80s, pioneered in the contemporary scene of our nation and internationally. The decade has seen the most creative and strong statement, the names of these handpicked 40 artists are foremost not only in the country but around the globe including Atul Dodiya, Anju Dodiya, Sudarshan Shetty, Sharmila Samant amongst others. For "Under the Sky- Earth Art Project", Arka Art Trust invited 25 well known young contemporary artist like Yashwant Deshmukh, Rajendra Kapse, Vishaka Apte to the abundant natural resource of Tansa.
