1858 Ltd Art Advisory was founded by Viola Raikhel-Bolot and Harvey Mendelson in 2004.

The group was formed in response to an unmet demand for independent and impartial advice when transacting in the art market.

Today, 1858 is recognised as a pioneer in the development of Art Wealth Management services, fashion and luxury brand collaborations and is regularly called upon by the financial services industry and professionals around the globe for its expertise and guidance.

In recognition of the increasing demand from Forbes clients internationally, Céline Fressart joined 1858 in 2010 to expand the group across Germany and France.
